FEATURED FILMMAKER: ADRIANE HOPPER

Adriane A. Hopper is a television producer in Los Angeles, California and owner of In Light Productions, LLC. In 1994, Adriane started her career in local news at KABC-TV in Los Angeles, CA. and later broke into the entertainment sector of the business during a time when reality television first started to emerge as its own genre and take notice.  Adriane quickly advanced to the position of Supervising Producer when she began working on NBC’s first ever daily reality series, STARTING OVER, which led to her receiving two Emmy nominations and one Emmy award in 2005.

She was the Co-Executive Producer of two PBS television talk-show series entitled A PLACE OF OUR OWN and LOS NINOS EN SU CASA.  She produced these Peabody award winning programs for three seasons and was nominated for a National Daytime Emmy Award in 2007 for her work on both.

 

CURRENT PROJECT

BREAKING DOWN THE BARS, premieres on the OWN Network (Oprah Winfrey Network) Feb. 15, 2011.

Breaking Down the Bars is a seven-episode docu-reality series that follows the dramatic transformation of eight female prisoners during their time at the Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana. With the help of therapist Dr. Stephanie Covington, they will document the heart-wrenching journeys of these women as they wrestle with the weight of their crimes, learn to take responsibility for their decisions, and work on rehabilitating their lives. This series will also reveal the stories of the families of these eight women as they deal with the changes brought on by the incarceration of a loved one.
