Nurse Jackie’s Composers Breaking Records!

Features Music from Award-winning Composers & Record Breakers, Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman!

Nurse Jackie 2nd Season Premieres March 22, 2010

“Nurse Jackie” is a dark comedy that is at turns wicked, heartbreaking and funny. Edie Falco stars as the title character Jackie Peyton, a strong-willed, fiercely loyal, deeply dedicated — but very flawed — emergency room nurse in a complicated New York City hospital. A lapsed Catholic with an occasional weakness for Vicodin and Adderall to get her through the days, Jackie keeps the hospital balanced with her own kind of justice. Every day is a high wire act of juggling patients, doctors, fellow nurses and her own indiscretions.

“We still pinch ourselves that we get to work with Wendy and Lisa,” said show creators Linda Wallem and Liz Brizius. “Their music is an essential part of the ‘Nurse Jackie’ landscape.

Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman are a musical composing duo based in Los Angeles. Following a career that started with Prince’s rock band, they have been composing for feature films and television since the 1995 box office hit Dangerous Minds. Their successful track record includes scoring the films Soul Food and Something New, as well as the television series “Crossing Jordan,” “Heroes” and “Mercy,” in addition to “Nurse Jackie.”  In a typically male-dominated field, Wendy and Lisa are the FIRST FEMALE COMPOSERS TO EVER SCORE THREE MAJOR NETWORK TELEVISION SHOWS AT ONCE!
